andersen WD hitch on Flight 26BHS

I'll be receiving a 2015 JayFlight 26BHS in a few weeks, and plan to install a weight distribution hitch that I'll bring to the dealer. I'm leaning toward an Andersen hitch, but noticed this warning on their website: "the Andersen WD Hitch is not compatible with Atwood 88xxx series couplers." Does anyone know whether 2015 Jayflight 26BHS's may come with such a hitch? Also, will the frame be 3-4"? (this is also a limitation of the hitch I'm considering.) This hitch seemed like the easiest for an inexperienced person to install. Thanks!

The easiest and best hitch IMO is an Equal-i-zer hitch.

I just purchased an Anderson for our 2014 281BHS. The hitch worked fine with the coupler and frame. I think the frame is 6 inches though.
After a few trips out I now have a Blue Ox installed. I think the Anderson has its place but it is not on a trailer of that size or tongue weight.
Sway control is similar between the two but the hookup is much easier with the Blue Ox and the ride is much nicer. Everything felt very rigid with the Anderson and all the trailer bumps and jolts were transferred into the TV with the Anderson.
I would recommend a traditional hitch like the Equalizer, Reese, or Blue Ox......

The Anderson would probably work great on a smaller and lighter trailer and depending on the need for 100% weight restoration vs 50% ect... It does not redistribute enough weight back to the front axle which is ultimately why I wanted to try something else.

Where do you live? I can sell you mine if you really want to try it.

I am using a Anderson on my trailer and I like it. Still playing with it due to my weight increasing still loading it up. But pulled it in 35 mph cross winds and held just fine.

Anderson is a pricy rip-off for what you are getting. Why pay a lot of money for a simple design. You can convert your present hitch with that design. Just go to the local automotive store and get the parts. The swivel bracket you can fabricate yourself or have it made. I have tried a Anderson and was not satisfied with the distribution on 32 ft. from my neighbor.

A friend of mine bought one for his 28 ft trailer and pulling it with a 1500 chevy said he liked it. He said when trucks went by him at 65 miles per hour his sway was minimal. I thought they looked interesting and it does look like a quality piece but I am not sold on it just yet. I am thinking could you put a stud on the end of your chain on spring bars with a poly bushing under spring bars to achieve the bounce less action?

You have a solid point AlJOas far as price The whole you could build one for less is almost always true a person could build almost any wd hitch out there if you had the time and quality control to make sure all was within specs. But as far a price I checked 2 places and could have got it between 300 and 350. But instead after I got the deal done for the price of the trailer said I wouldn't do the deal without the hitch for free figured I could try it if I hated it I could buy something different. But so far I'm liking it I will have a better idea after this weekend I'm doing a 400 mile trip and that should give me a better idea
