Dometic makes a digital non-programmable thermostat that works well with RV systems.

Jcatone how does that work with the stat being 24volts and a 12 volt trailer?

Most all digital stats operate on batteries. Tstat is just a switch. I'm using a digital stat for a house. Works great

Just to add, they are marked 24volt so you don't try to use it on line voltage (110volt).

I do heating so I've wired up my fair share of stats but I always hook them up in their respective voltage.

I have read numerous thread here and other sites on how to add a digital thermostat if you do not currently have one and all involved buying random parts to make it work. I finally did enough research to understand what was needed to make it look "factory" and the install was not as bad as I anticipated!

I added a digital thermostat to my airxcel a/c with roof controls this weekend. I ordered from American Rv Company (I am not affiliated):

Coleman 9330C755 Control box ( replaced the manual control control box)
Coleman 8530A3451 Digital Thermostat (I originally only had thermostat for furnace)
Coleman 9233A4551 Electric Heat element.

I fished new 18/5 Tstat wire through the ceiling using speaker holes (Thank you for the recommendation I read here) to help the process and ran 12 v + and - wires under trailer back to converter to power the thermostat. Cost was $218 w/ shipping for the three parts above. Tstat wire and 12v wire were about $30. Took about 4 hours to install, but now I have Hi/Lo ac controlled by digital thermostat with electric heat, unless too great of demand than furnace kicks on. A/C turns on and off and fan does not continue to run as previously and the temperature is now finally comfortable.
