361 REQS - How to fill up the 5er with Fresh Water?

Just took our 1st trip in the 5er and traveled over 3100 miles. Everything we well EXCEPT for my confusion with the fresh water fill-up process. It was my understanding that we kept the "switches" on normal and hooked up to the "city water". Turn on the Water Pump and everything works fine. Wasn't the case. I had to fill up the FRESH Water tank to get any water in the Bathroom and Kitchen. Is this the normal process and I missed it during the orientation OR do I have a problem? Thanks for any assistance!

Congrats! If your 5th is set up the same as mine you have several options.
1 Country fill will use the pump to suck water into the tank from a container.
2 City fill uses the external pressurized water hose to fill the tank through the city water connection.

Depending on the combination of the switches and your hookup you will need to set the combination to either normal which is pump and water holding tank. If you have a city connection then use the city connections combo and no pump. The pump is only required for tank drawn water.

You might also want to check the inline valves for each fixture which might be off. Also the hot water heater will need to be taken out of bypass if it set that way from the factory as most units are shipped winterized after the initial factory checks.
