I would look at the 2014 units. They are giving big discounts on them. I bought a 2013 in Feb and got 35% off MSRP. I like the unit for the most part. The quality control is not the best but I think that is industry wide these days. It comes with no oven which may be a problem for you. We never used ours in our last camper so it was a non factor.

2015 Redhawk

Hi,

We have a 2015 Redhawk, and I have to agree with the previous poster about the quality of the unit. It's really gone down hill in the last few years, and ours has numerous issues that should have been caught at the factory.

Right now we have 14 issues that will need to be addressed, including a leaking slide. All I can suggest is to look the unit over VERY CAREFULLY!

The nice thing about the Redhawk is that it dosn't have a tankless water heater. We dry camp a lot, and the tankless heaters waste a lot of water and propane. You use a bunch of both trying to get and keep the water at a consistant (and safe) temperature.

If you do buy the unit, make sure that you do the PDI at the dealer in the morning, so you have plenty of time to look for issues. Make sure that you try EVERYTHING!

Good luck!

also take notes where everything is. being a newbie myself i had a hard time locating things. they told me how things worked but not the location. even jayco doesn't have a picture of where things are which would be nice.

leaking slide

Hi

It's the small wardrobe slide in the bedroom. Water runs down from the top rear of the slide, down the wall and on to the rug. We keep a rolled up towel on the floor to catch the water until we hear back from Jayco.
We don't know if it's something that the dealer can handle, or whether it has to go back to the factory.
