My tow rig is a 2013 F-350 DRW Crew cab long box 4x4 6.7 diesel. 3:73 gears . Empty 15/16 mpg. Speed is a big factor for mileage in a diesel I run 60 65 on average when towing . Drops fast when you put your foot in it
I have the same TV and pretty much the same MPG's. I have the 351 RLTS, but my empty MPG is closer to 13.2-14.8 probably because I drive it hard

I bet you do. Up until you get close, i bet you can't tell it apart from a half ton. I left the GM dealership in late 02 and never saw a 2500. Plenty of 1500's

Our 2001 GMC 2500HD 8.1 Crew Cab LWB 4x4 gets about 10 empty, and about 8 towing. We didn't buy it for the mileage. We bought it for the towing capacity. It'll move anything we need it to.

We have an X23B, GVWR 4995 pounds. We tow with a 2014 RAM 1500 Quad Cab with the 3.6L Pentastar V6. This seems like a good combo for us.

We get about 12-13 towing (10.5 with strong headwind) and 22-24 regular driving during the spring/summer/fall running 65mph. Winter is about 20 mpg.

Seems like 9-12 is about the norm for towing trailers assuming the TV and trailer are a good combo. It's not the weight as much as the giant parachute behind you that causes all the load. We got about the same mileage with a 3500 pound trailer as we do with our 5000 pound trailer.
