Remote Wireless Light Switch

We have a Jayco 26BH. My wife is 4'11" and cannot reach the lights in the ceiling to switch them on and off. She is really tired of dragging around a stool and asking me for help. Today I installed a wireless remote controlled light switch and she loves it. I will be installing two more. This unit was on Ebay for $15.00 and free shipping. I bought a couple of back ups for when these go out. This would also be useful if you wanted to control the lights remotely and not have to enter a dark camper at night. Hope you enjoy

On the 120AC side I use a couple of these REMOTE UNITS from local hardware store. These are great units to have... The biggest use is for the outside 120VAC things we have on. Just push the pocket remote button and outside lights go OFF OR ON...

I bought a few LED light strips, 16 feet for $10 each.
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/141052699609?...84.m1439.l2649

A remote switch that also has a dimmer

I'm going to put the strips above the cabinetry in our Eagle. I love the fact that the switch also has a dimmer.

I also got a super deal on the RGB light strips with remote.

I was initially concerned about the product coming direct from China but it shipped and arrived quickly and works like it's supposed to. Compare the price to what you pay at dealers etc. and you can't go wrong.

Just to give everyone a different option.

I read several success stories about ordering from sellers in China before I tried it. Have placed several orders that way and have not had a disappointment "yet", but you like Rolling points out, you can't beat the price. I don't think anything has taken more than 10 days to arrive. When I order from ebay I pick a seller with good reviews (like a 98+% approval rating).

Caution!!

I purchased a few inexpensive 12VDC wireless remotes last year for the same purpose, DW is vertically challenged compared to my 6'2" frame. They work great!!! Actually TOOOOO GREAT, as they activate my remote control unit on my 120 volt inverter along with the lights. I tried 3 different types of inexpensive remotes, all with the same outcome.

I put them on my test bench and started looking at them. They all use the 315/433MHz frequency as does my inverter and a lot of other xmit/receivers. None of them use a code to ensure only a specific receiver will be activated. I tried moving the frequency around the 315/433 range, but there is so much bleed over (hence the inexpensive part) that they still activate the inverter anyway.

My Options:
My next move is to either disconnect the remote receiver in the inverter or install pull chain switches from ACE on each of the lights. I am leaning toward the pull chains, as they will allow DW to select/deselect any of the ceiling lights.

Don
If you have any REMOTE units (not radio/Tv) check to see if they are activated along with the inexpensive remotes.

I just looked throught the documentation for the one you purchased and you picked a GOOD one!!! It uses an 8bit code to identify the remote.

Now I can order one of these...
Thanks
Don

Thanks for posting this. I think I'll join the club and install one of these. I know my wife will appreciate it.
