Retrofit Shore Power Cable Connection

Seeking advice.

I want to make the connection that allows the shore power cable to be disconnected from the TT when not in use. Has anyone done that and are they willing to share product and installation advice? Thanks.

I did this mod to my 26BH. The most difficult part for me was cutting the original shore cable and stripping the writes on the ends to make the new connections.

I ended up using giant tin snips to cut the cable. I had a hard time removing the outer insulation coating to get access to the writes to strip. Be careful not to damage the wires while removing the outer coating.

Anybody have a good strategy for removing that outer coating without risking the integrity of the inner wires?

Take a large Xacto knife and a very small clamp (I use a parallel clamp). Put the clamp on the blade to allow for the outer jacket thickness to be cut but no deeper. Cut down the length and once around the jacket and pull it off.

That's a good idea. I wish I had asked the question before I did my mod.
