Trailer Faucet

Are the faucets in our trailers anything close to what is used in our homes? I have a leak in the hot water side of the kitchen faucet in my 2008 20BH. After I use the hot water I get a drip from the under side of the fixture untill I turn off the pump and relieve the pressure, when I don't it will always drip. Can I use parts from my local hardware store or do I need to go to trailer part sales?

The parts are plastic that are pressure fired together. We did some plumbing on our last trailer.. it was very easy to work with.. but we did need to but them at the RV place.

I replaced the kitchen and bathroom faucets with standard household fixtures. I bought them at a local hardware store. Easy replacement. Measure the hole spacing to get the proper fitment.

Last TT, I did the same, replaced the plastic faucet with a nice sprayer faucet from Home Depot, connections were identical nothing special to do because it was an RV.

Most that I have had are made very cheap. Not usually worth repair. As others have stated, they are the same as household fixtures. Then parts will be easier to obtain.

All the pluming supplies you need can be bought at the local hardware.. no need to go with RV dealer stock UNLESS you want to pay too much for cheap parts.

yep, ya'll were correct. standard o-rings from the pluming dept. $1.75 and all is well! Thanks everyone for your input.

I was disappointed when I saw the cheap plastic sink in the bathroom. That is on the list for replacement. It just takes an item falling out of the cabinet to break it. The faucet will be upgraded too. I was fine with the kitchen plumbing but thought Jayco could of at least spent more than a few dollars for the bathroom stuff. An easy upgrade.
