I used the .085 acrylic from Lowes on our doors two years ago. It has held up great, I didn't use any extra support was used. Just snapped into the door tracks in theory to be able to remove it. We have yet to see a need to remove it. No sagging or anything with the door.

I did this on 185rb door and used clear car door trim on top and bottom to clean up the cuts and helps it to not rattle when door gets shut......

I cut my acrylic to size and then kept them in place by using offset mirror clips.
The thicker offset part holds the window against the screen and the other end fits
down into the channel that goes around the opening. Because the clips are made
from clear plastic they're not very noticeable. It makes for a solid feel and the
windows are easy to remove when not needed. The clips are made by Anchor and can be bought at most hardware stores.
