First time using the water system on 22FB

We used the new trailer about a month ago but was not hooked up to water or did not put any water into the tank as we used inside facilities at my Son's farm. My question is when I hook up to a water supply, do I need to turn a valve somewhere to have the water go into the hot water tank? I have flushed the system of antifreeze and tomorrow morning will sanitize per instructions on this wonderful and helpful site. I see two valves on the water pump and it looks like I have to turn one of those to operate the pump so I think I am okay there for the pump to operate IF I just want to use water out of the water tank and not the water supply hose function. If I'm wrong there, please tell me I'm wrong there also. Any and all responses are welcome!

There have been several threads with really good diagrams so you might look thru a few to get a pictorial view of what you need to do, I'll try to verbalize the situation for you. When the rig is winterized the water heater is by-passed by a series of usually 3 valves. One closes the water flow into the WH, one closes the flow out of the WH, and the last opens the flow around the WH. This prevents anti-freeze from entering the WH. When you dewinterize, you reverse the procedure. Open the 2 valves to and out of the WH. Close the by-pass valve so water goes into the WH. That procedure should get you going in the right direction. Oh, if you are hooking up to city water with a hose, you do not use the water pump. Pump is only used when you are using water you have put into your contained fresh water tank in the TT. Hope that helps.

Thank you for the illustrations

Crabman, My pump is horizontal under the bottom drawer and I saw the one valve with the clear hose with the other end open as shown in your pic. In your pic I only see two valves, is there another one out of view?

Havnfun, Thank you for your reply also. I did read somewhere what you said about only using the pump when using the water tank, but thank you for confirming that.

Those are the only two valves on/by the water pump. The other three valves are the water heater bypass valves and should be by the water heater.

Gotcha

Thanks and that helps too, that our pumps looks similar. I guess it's my age, but the pics help more than the illustrations. Now, to find what the water heater is behind tomorrow! I appreciate the help!

All's well!

Now I can get some sleep tonight, couldn't stand not know what it was behind. Under the refrigerator there is a panel with two screws, removed that and there it is. Thanks to those that have replied.

I re-hung the panel covering my water heater using hinges, a latch and a knob similar to what the other doors have.
THat allows quick access to the heater and allows usage of the compartment for storage of various things.

In the pick of the water pump I have the same one. Mine has a leak coming from were the circular white tag is. There are 4 screws around a cap and one in the middle. Is this repairable?

well are you talking about filling the water tank or dewinterizing the clear hose is inlet for antifreeze and should be across with the line and the other one coming into the pump should be inline with the line... as far as filling the tank there is a seperate inlet than the city water inlet to fill the fresh water tanks ... it just has a screw on lid and you stick the hose into it and fill and make sure before you fire the water heater your off of bypass and have bled the air out of the hot water heater tank by opening a hot water faucet
