2017 sport here. We picked it up about 5 or 6 weeks ago. We've been out twice so far, and loving it!
We've been looking for a few years for a pop up in decent shape that wouldn't break the bank. I don't know what these things go for in other areas, but here in the Charlotte area, a new pop up was within $1000 of a comparable trailer! The used ones looked as if they had been towed through the woods without being taken down first.

Just purchased a 2006 Jay series 1007 trailer. Got a pretty good deal on it due to it needing some repairs. Nothing too expensive, just time consuming (mostly waiting for parts to come in, lol!). Will post more about it after everything is done. If I need any help will be sure put up a post to get some help.

Can't wait to get it out on it's maiden voyage. Happy camping everyone!

Smile Just a few days into 2020 and already planning

We bought our 1993 Jayco Jay Series 1008 in May of 2019. I spent the next few months getting everything road ready...

I took the back end off, fixed some rot around the spare tire mount, replaced all lighting inside and out with LED, replaced all outlets with USB charger style outlets, replaced electrical and water inlets and resealed, replaced non-functional door latch, resealed roof and replaced vent with one that has a fan, replaced faucet and plumbing to allow for either outside city water or pump from reserve tank, replace tires and wheels (including spare & cover), wheel bearings redone, added a LP tank cover and replaced some missing cupboard doors.

Seems like a lot of work but the canvas was new, the seat covers were new and there was no floor rot. The roof was solid except for back edge, which I re-enforced with aluminum strips and sealed.

We went on a 5 day trip to the West side of Michigan in August (we're from mid-Michigan) and had no problems. Looking to do a much bigger trip now and starting to prep and look for tips for longer trips. We're hoping to do Fort Wilderness at Disney this summer. We are NOT making the trip in one drive. Planning to stop in Gatlinburg overnight before continuing on.

Currently working on adding 10K BTU AC unit (portable), reflectex and popup gizmos to maintain cool temps in Florida heat.

Concerns: Tire blowouts (planning to have 2 spares) and temperature.

Any tips appreciated!

1972 Starmaster 6

For a winter project bought a 72 Starmaster from original owner's son. Was very much original, and in good shape, especially canvas, just tired looking. Replaced 2 broken lift cables, some hardware, painted, recovered cushions and refreshed in general.
Last on the list is plumbing, which I need to seek help on another thread. Electric faucet is broken/leaks and city water line was not connected to plumbing so I am trying to determine how to replace that and connect city water line as well.

Nice little camper, but I still prefer my 2014 19RD for our planned trips!

boblanglois, Can you share what exactly you did for the plumbing/faucet? Do you have a water pump?

New to this

After many, many years, I finally convinced my wife to move from tents to a camper. We pick up a 2001 Eagle 12 MK tomorrow, a compromise between the travel trailer I want and the tent she enjoys. This is large enough for the 2 kids and a dog we have at home, and the 2 grown kids we have that like to show up when we camp.

Just picked up a 1982 Featherlite 4. I have been adding 12 volts, replacing the cabinet inside the door which holds the ice box. I am waiting for a new canvas from BearCreek which won't be here until September.

Not sure if you still post, but I was wondering how you've been liking the Sport long term? Any maintenance issues? Thanks!

shelbydave hasn't been back to visit since his last post. You might try sending him a PM, which might get a response through his email. Worth a try.

2000 Eagle 12 SO

Starting to rebuild this pop-up trailer. Should be ready by Dec 2023... Depending on when new canvas will arrive.

Sounds like there's a valve open and there is an adjustment on the water pump to daily it up or down.
