Joe, just started towing a 2015 jeep Cherokee with our new 35un. Blue ox everything, except stay in play brake system. Tows great, no problems.

We are towing a 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid with BlueOx and the SMI Duo "Stay-in-Play". Very happy with the Blue Ox components and the way the Precept handles. Having an issue with the Duo. Keeps blowing a fuse. Still working on this with the installation group.

Jacobsnc, any issues with your "Stay-in-Play"?

We are having our Blue Ox base plate installed on my Escape tomorrow. Will use the Blue Ox Aventa tow bar and the Break Buddy Vantage on our 31UL. We will tow for the first time on Memorial Day week end. I'll report the experience.

It probably goes without saying...........BUT, make sure any time you tow a vehicle, the alignment on the ''toad'' is set correctly. An out of alignment toad really affects the handling of the RV.
Just my 2c worth.
Bob....Jacobsnc...sounds like great setups.

OK, we are in our 2nd Campsite since getting the Precept rigged to tow the Equinox. Everything is working fine. This Blue Ox stuff is really quality stuff. Wife dropped the # 32 fuse down the middle lining so as soon as I fish it out with my magnet, we'll be good to go.

HAPPY, HAPPY. Sounds like a spare #32 fuse might be needed, huh.
Thanks for the update. Hope it has dried out where you are Bob. We are finally getting some sun and boy is it nice to see.

I also have a blue Ox and am buying a precept 35 un. It is higher off the ground than my class C. Will it be fine?

Towing with a 35UN

I will be using a blue Ox and my Jayco is a little higher off the ground at the hitch than my class C. Any problems?

You will need a drop down depending on what your towing.

Fireman, the rule of thumb is 2-3 inches. My 31 UL is 1” above the base plate on my Equinox. I consider this ideal. If your toad is 1-3” below your MH hitch, I would think your OK. More than that, a drop down might be in order. Your installer should recommend what you need. Good Luck

Have towed a Ford Focus and now a Nissan Frontier 2wd, 5 speed. Seems to work fine on both rigs but 8k passes still take some time.

Towing with 31UL in the west

We have a 2015 Precept and live in SW Washington state. Any direction we travel there are mountain passes to go over. We tow a Jeep Wrangler on a Stehl car dolly. No issues at all just be prepared to go 45mph over some of the passes.
Travel safe

Yes. Remember it takes longer to stop. Also, after you strap it down, go a few miles down the road, pull over to a safe spot and tighten straps again. I towed with a Stehl tow dolly and a Chevy Equinox for awhile then bought me a Jeep Wrangler and tow with a blue Ox. Much easier.

We tow a 2001 Toyota Corolla, Blue OX and Roadmaster mounting plate (none available from Blue Ox).
Use Ready Brake, easy hookup and no issues towing.

We tow a 2010 Honda CR-V. Entire Blue OX set-up and it tows like a charm. Had to use a 2" drop receiver.
