I was flushing the black and grey water tanks today in preparation for winterizing. I had flushed the black water tank with the tank flush at the last campground until it ran clear so I didn't expect much black water to come out.
Used the tank flush again and got 4, 5 gal pails of black water. Then I remembered mcfrmall saying he poured a 5 gal pail of water down his tt toilet and sinks to displace the water in the taps. So I did the same. I poured 7, 5 gal pails down the toilet. The first 5 flushed out a lot more sewage that the tank rinse didn't. The 6th and 7th pails finally ran clear. So I conclude from that, that the tank flush is a nice feature but isn't placed properly and doesn't reach all corners of the tank.
Thanks for the tip mcfrmall I'll be sending you a thanks.

If it turns out not be be the connection, you may have a defective back-flow preventer (check valve).

I agree, don't chance it. My flusher water supply tubing is routed such that the water doesn't drain completely out of the tubing through the spray head into the tank, so I have to blow it out and I give it a shot of antifreeze for good measure.

I had one spray flusher assembly split open do to frozen water (present TT a number of years ago), found this out in the spring when water was running all over the CG dump station pavement

I agree. Our whole family camps during Indian Summer and have a chili cookoff. I have to keep trying because I have yet to win.

Especially down here in Texas! I'm missing out on my favorite camping season this year! I may have to winterize without going out again, and that would be sad, but we're going to try to get in a couple more trips this year!

I keep my camper plugged in with two small heaters set at 50 degrees. The last couple of years we have been taking trips right up through Xmas. Of course we went to Key West, but previously we have been out with snow on the ground in the Smokies and had a blast. Our water hose froze up on several occasions but no biggie as we used the on board water. I keep an eye out on the weather though. When we are not camping if I see a cold snap coming and it is going to be below freezing for more than a few hours, I winterize by draining and blowing out the lines with compressed air. I don't use the RV antifreeze except in the traps to displace the water there just in case the power goes off and my heaters quit. I pour some RV antifreeze into the holding tanks and drain some off so there in no water in them either. It only takes a minute. Next trip all I have to do is fill my fresh water tank and I'm ready to go. No blowing out the RV antifreeze for me! That reminds me, time to order a heated water hose for this year!

I used the Sewer Solution a couple times and put it in a shed and forgot it. When you open the dump valve and you have the standard size sewer hose it's similar to flushing a toilet. The sewage flows quickly and the rapid flow will help to move out the solid waste. With the use of a pump and small hose you're draining off the liquid and leaving solids behind and you have to use the black tank flush to empty the solids as well as clean the tank walls.
