Is there a way to use trailers pump to flush

I was just informed by the campground we are going to next week that they have shut the water off at the sites due to weather, they also stated that they may have water shut off at the dump station. The sites are full hook up just no water at this time. They do however have a spot to fill up fresh tanks so I don't have to drive with the 650lbs of water there. My question is would it be possible to somehow use the pump from the trailer to flush out black tank.I do have a bypass on my pump that sucks in antifreeze for winterizing, didnt know if it's possible to close discharge of pump and open bypass to send water out via garden hose.My trailer is not at my house so I cant look at the set up right now but was just curious if anyone has tried this or has a idea.Worst case scenario I can hook up when I get home and flush to septic tank but worried about stuff freezing in the tank during the ride home.

Well, you could do it, although I would not do it for a couple of reasons. You may not have sufficient pressure to do a good job with your onboard pump, and more importantly, I'd be hesitant about hooking anything that provides a link from the BW to the FW lines, even if there is a backflow preventer.

Here's how you could do it (again, I'm not suggesting you should do it).
If you have an outside shower, get an adapter fitting that connects your showerhead hose to a garden hose fitting. Then just connect that garden hose to your black water tank rinser and turn on the outside shower.

last week I hooked my FW pump up to do just that... I found it did not have enough pressure to do a proper job.

If your just needing a way to flush out the black tank, I would simply fill a 5 gallon bucket and dump it down the toilet, it may not do the greatest job, but its better than nothing.

Dump your black tank at the campsite and then tow it to a different dump station and flush there. Or if you're not loaded too heavy and balance permits, just tow there with the black tank full, or partially full, and dump elsewhere. You definitely will want to flush that tank out before it sits for too long.

That's how I have been flushing mine for 4 years. No problems. Still a personal choice.

Thanks for the replies everyone.I was wondering about the pressure not being enough to flush it out,if my fresh water tank is still full enough I will try the 5 gallon bucket trick,it does sound better than nothing.Winter camping sucks already,i even offered to heat trace the hose bib to keep our water on and they said no dice,at least I tried,

You might try a product called "Water Thief" available at CW for about 5 bucks. Depending on your faucet type, you may be able to hook it up to your kitchen faucet and then use the black tank rinse. The on-board pump is supposed to supply 40 psi so it should be enough. Good luck and happy flushing

Another way we use is to get a Thetford valve connected your rigs sewer outlet. Dump your black water, close the outer valve, then open the grey water valve. Allow it to equalize in the black water tank then shut the grey and open the outer valve.
It will back wash the black.

Do it again with the other if you have 2 grey tanks.
Don't forget to put a couple gallons of water in the black tank to slosh around while driving.

Most campgrounds that I have hosted at, that have this kind of tap have it because they don't have enough water for filling RV tanks.. so doing this you could be taking 30 other peoples water..

You could also use the 5 gallon bucket to reclaim some of your grey water and dump it down the toilet to flush out your black.

I would be hesitant as well to hook up my FW system to my black tank flush, I know there is a very remote possibility of contamination, but it's not worth the risk to me. If I can get a pretty good flush at the site using their FW down the toilet, or the reclaimed grey, I'd do that before I would try to hook up the on board FW system to the waste system.

A lot of trailers dont have a black tank flush system on them. Mine dosent have one and havent had on any trailer that I have owned now I do beleive that its a great option and I do wish my new one had the tank flush. Byt I have always used the 5gal bucket system and never had any problems when I am done dumping I put 5gal of water and a packet of chemicals and it sits all winter long no smell and no issues next spring.

OK what about using the proper chemicals in the black tank. That is what these chemicals are made for. If they cost too much. Simply buy a gallon of vinegar. Dump the contents in the toilet. Fill that same jug with water (twice). Dump that in the toilet (while still at home) after you make the drive there and spend the weekend, it will dump fairly clean. Especially if you use the chemicals and vinegar. You can also do the vinegar again (after dumping) and add "at least" 1/2 gallon of RVAF. it will sit fine all winter.

Thanks for all the ideas. I may just try the 5 gallon bucket method.Once I return home I will be able to hook up to house and flush it and dump into septic tank.I just don't wanna leave any solids in there for the cold long trip home

OOOps, I think you misunderstood me. My point was to hook up the water thief to the RVs faucet, not a campsite faucet, then use the on board pump to pull water from the on board fresh water tank. Sorry if I wasn't clear about this.
