Leak at regulator

After returning from labour day camping I noticed a propane smell. Did the ol sniff then spit test and it's coming from the fitting going into the regulator from the prop. bottle. Is this a simple take apart add new compound or Teflon tape and re screw the fitting back in place. I'd rather not go thru the warranty process to expedite my time. I'm back camping in 4 days. This seems to be the solution here but any advice would be appreciated. It's a small leak but a leak nonetheless.

Yup that's right. Two full wraps around the pipe. Good for metal joints with fuels gasoline, propane, naptha, butane ...

Thanks very much. I've been searching on this forum and all over the net for advice. I just want to be sure I do the right repair the FIRST time. How does one clean off that pipe dope putty effectively and not damage the threads of the pigtail?

I just had this same issue also. My second trip out and it was leaking going into the regulator. I brought mine to the dealer, 40 min away one way and they replaced all of the lines going in, no more problems. I am not very handy and did not want to screw with a gas line, it was a big inconvenience to take it all the way out for that.

My dealer is a good distance (4.5 hours) and the local Jayco dealer in vancouver area is not my favourite. I'm certain replacing the compound with a new wrap of yellow tape will get it. The seal must've failed from rapid temperature changes we were in the pass camping and it went down to 5 Celsius.
