Getting Satellite TV outside the camper

On my old camper, I had my tv mounted to a swivel arm and it was mounted next to the dinette window. I could open the sliding window and swing the TV outside and watch my games without retiring anything. I've got a extra HD Direct TV dish and receiver from home that I use. On my new Jayco 27DSRL, I don't have any windows positioned where I can do this.

What Ive found that will let me watch my DirecTV outside is a Rocketfish™ - Whole Home HD Extender - Black, Model: RF-HPL302. This consists of a transmitter that you plug the Satellite into, and it has a pass-through port to connect to the TV there. There is a receiver box that you connect to the other TV. This system broadcasts the HD signal over the electric wiring. I haven't done this in the camper yet, but it works great in my house! You have to watch the same program on both TV's, but I dont't have a problem with that.

I plan to get a TV mount with two quick release base plates that will allow me to use the TV outside, and move into the Bedroom. No extra wiring involved to watch DirecTV in multiple locations in my camper!

Seann,
If you are interested in Wireless HDMI, you may want to look into this setup on Amazon. Reviews are good, price is not bad either.

Hope no one takes this wrong, but, when were camping, which is often for 5 or 6 months, we watch very little TV. A few years ago we worked at a campground in a remote area that had no cable and too many trees only 2 sites out of almost 300 were able to receive satellite TV. Actually think it was one of our better seasons. We sat outside by the fire, met lots of other folks, talked, played games...etc. Was a great time..and...when we did get home, we really hadn't missed anything. I should add we had no wifi that season either. WiFi was dial up on a standard telephone line and limited at that..

Have not used this particular piece of hardware, but I do have two other Rocketfish products used at home: an HDMI switch since my older Sony TV has only one HDMI port, and one of their hard drive enclosures and software for my desktop PC backups. Their stuff seems to work reliably.
