Hi everyone, I have been reading posts on here for about a month and have found lots of helpfull hints and information. Thank you all.
My question is this...we recently purchased a 2014 26RLS. What does the fuse on the battery do? I thought it was to disconnect the battery so it doesnt go dead. My TT has been sitting for about a week unplugged and I noticed the battery is down to about 1/2 so I pulled the fuse, but the lights and everything inside still work??? Confused and hoping for some insight..THANK YOU
As noted that fuse should be for the power jack. And yes you would have to disconnect the battery cable to keep it from draining. Or you could add a battery disconnect switch. I just disconnect the battery cables.
Do you have a power tongue jack? If it's a 30A automotive fuse coming off one of the wires from the + side of the battery, it's likely for that.
I have a 30 amp in line fuse on my positive cable. It is tucked down in the battery box. Once pulled it will disconnect power from the battery. But the proper procedure is to disconnect the negative cable.
It seems like the new Jay Flight series hard sided trailers don't have battery fuses like you have. I'm thinking it might be on the Feathers and Hybrids or older models only.
