Fresh water Sensors
Any idea why the fresh water gauge dosen't show full when I fill the tank? The gauge works on the black and both gray. I know the tank is full cause water runs out the overflow. Any suggestions would be helpful.

You don't mention this in your posting, but I'll assume your other fresh water level indicators are lighting properly.
Is the trailer level when you fill it? If not, here's a possible explanation. The overflow tube and water inlet hose could be on one side of the tank and the sensors on the opposite side. If the tank is leaning such that both the overflow/water inlet is on the low side, the water will come out of the overflow before the tank completely fills. This could prevent the air still trapped in the high side from escaping which will inhibit the water from reaching the full sensor.
If you can see your tank (I can on my TT) you can watch the water level as it fills and see whether the water's actually reaching the full sensor.

Thanks for the reply. The trailer is close to being level on the drive when I fill the tank. The overflow is on the road side of the trailer. I know the tank is full cause I pump in almost the same amount of water out of a 55 gal drum on the second night of our stay, and like I mentioned before the other levels seem to be working on the gauge, black and both gray. Next time I fill I will try to fill a little on the unlevel side and see what happens. Have you or anyone else replaced the sensors in this tank or any other? I cannot see the tank cause it is enclosed. The trailer is a 2007 Designer 5er.

The first light on the indicator is the only one that lights up.

Sounds like a bad sensor in the tank. Did it ever work properly?

That`s just a guess on my part. If it was the black or grey tank with a problem I would suggest something is on the sensor giving you a bad reading which may be fixed by cleaning the tank. This happens all the time with toilet paper and other "goodies". But the fresh water tank has no solids to mess up the sensor, with the outside exceptional chance of mineral deposits. Therefore my guess that it is a bad sensor in the tank. I suppose one other possibility is the monitor panel is faulty. -Lee

You might want to check the simple things first. Like did the wire from the sensor come loose?

Good point. A critter may have chewed a wire in two or such. But he said it was reading one light on the panel. I wonder if it is the empty light or the 1/3 full light. That`s one advantage of having an open underbelly like on my TT. You can look right at all the tanks and waste plumbing.

Welcome to the Jayco Owners Forum BJHoyle! The one thing I wish we had is the opportunity to see our fresh water tank; I'm pretty sure ours doesn't run accurate. If it's the sensor, hope you can get it fixed soon
