Tire Changing Recommendations

Recently purchased a 32BHDS with the MOR/ryde CRE 3000 suspension. I was looking at purchasing the Trailer Aid ramp but wanted to first see if this type of ramp would work with the suspension I have. I've read on other threads that this type of ramp will not lift a wheel off the ground with certain types of suspension. Thanks.

I have the same suspension and with a side (both tires off ground) fully lifted I can pull one tire to the ground which in turn lifts the other tire. That tells me that lifting from one tire will not lift the other. I use a bottle jack on the frame.

I pull mine up on a ramp or blocks, then use a bottle jack under the spring hanger to raise the axle with the bad tire enough to change it. Remember to break all the nuts before lifting.

I have a 6 ton that I carry in my truck. It has come in handy.

For home use I have a 22 ton bottle jack and it picks up the trailer with very little effort. For travel I carry a 6 ton because it's lighter than the big boy and will get the job done.

I use a 6 ton long ram bottle jack right to the frame in front of or right behind the tandems as it is easier to get to and only takes a few pumps to get the tires off the ground. I also carry an 8 ton bottle jack and a 3 ton floor jack. The 6 ton long ram is the easiest and fastest by far. I also like to put jack stands under things when jacked up just in case.

I use the trailer aid - best invention ever. Just used it on my boat trailer last Sunday on the way home from the lake (4th time using trailer aid). My wife and kids were amazed at how easy it was and how little time it took. If I have to use a jack, I will just call AAA. Until that day, I can get it done much faster than I can get them out to us.

Since it is not a everyday use tool, I found them very reasonable at Harbor Freight and Northern Tool.
