We have a heat pump and have been happy with it.When the temps are mild we can use the heat pump or the fireplace and when it gets colder we have the furnace.

You will end up being glad you ordered it, especially if you camp at all where it dips down into the mid 40ies at night.

We use ours daily right now. A great option for only $140, cheaper than propane, packaged well with the fireplace heater. It works great down to abour 40F, I would highly recommend purchasing.

I have another host right across the street from me with a Class A. He obviously has a heat pump, actually two, and I can tell when they are running from across the street. I don't hear them when I'm inside, but outside it is very obvious.

Of course in the summer when everyone is running 1 or 2 a/c's including me I don't even notice the bit of noise when outside.

Heat pumps are basically ac units that can pump or move heat in or out. From that point of view there isn't much difference so I don't see how reliability changes much. I have no experience in RVs with them but in my 3rd day off having one at home and love it. My next rv if it's an option will have it. Even if your in a metered camp site I think the heat pump would be more efficient.
