Ocracoke, NC
A couple weeks ago the DW & I spent a long weekend at the OBX Island of Ocracoke, one of our favorite destinations. We drove to the Cedar Island Ferry Terminal and over-nighted Wednesday where we had a 7 am ferry reservation Thursday for the 2:15 ferry ride.
We camped at Ocracoke Campground, which is part of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, a NP. This campground has a nonsite specific reservation system which I personally don't like but that won't stop us from camping there. There are no hookups and generator use is limited to A,B & C loops. We were in site C10.
The facilities are reasonable and the non-hot water showers are refreshing after a hot day on the beach.
The village of Ocracoke is captivating and relaxing. We were not ready to leave on departure day. So we'll be returning soon. Here are a few pictures of our trip.
