The Blue Ox has good reviews, however I have spoken with an owner with first hand experience and he claimed sometimes the bars can snap or fling out of control when you're hitching and unhitching them if you're not careful. So take that for what it's worth. I think they work pretty well under tow.

I just bought a used trailer that had a Blue Ox on it, and I elected to not purchase the hitch with the trailer. Mainly because it was way too light for the trailer itself but also because I wanted the Equalizer with 4 point sway control. It's a heavy duty hitch and is tried, tested and true. Replacement parts and support are probably better with Equalizer than Blue Ox as well.

No first hand knowledge, but Im going with Reese straightline dual cam when I finally get my trailer ......if ever.....But I do like the chain crank up design on the blue ox. I thought about getting just the crank up part of the blue ox ($250) and adding it to the reese , but to much $

I've had a Reese WDH with friction sway bars, Reese Straightline Dual Cam and now Blue Ox Sway PRO.

I went for the Blue Ox for a few reasons, simple installation, super quiet with no noise, pivots points are sealed avoiding the grease mess like other WD hitches, and #1 in my book Made in the USA!

I purchased a 2013 Rockwood HW296 last year and the dealer highly recommended the Blue OX Sway Pro Hitch. Being a newbie to trailer towing, I purchased the Blue Ox and was so happy with it that I purchased heavier weight bars when we traded in our Rockwood for a 2014 Whitehawk 28DSBH last October. Our local Jayco dealer was also a Blue Ox Dealer so they didn't have an issue setting up the hitch on our upgraded tow vehicle with our new Whitehawk. I have never had an issue with the bars snapping or flinging out of control when hitching or unhitching. It has worked great with the Whitehawk. As gcloss stated, Made in the USA and #1 in my book too. Tech Support was also great answering my questions when I purchased the Jayco and had concerns about which bars to purchase.

For such a camper (jay feather 19xud), why the need for an anti sway weight distribution hitch? What is your tow vehicle?

The trailer weighs 3700 lbs tongue weight 360 lbs. When i picked it up i noticed considerable see sawing at the trailer hitch. So to remedy that it needs weight distribution. So i might as well throw in some sway control to.TOW VEHICLE 2002 Dodge Dakota PICKUP 3.9 litre v 6 extra leafs in the back springs.

I'm on my second TT and moved the Blue Ox to the new TT. We bought stronger bars and still have had no problems. It is the old version of Blue Ox Sway Pro. Still a fan.

Yep, once your TV and HTT is loaded-up for camping you will benefit from a properly sized/adjusted WDH. I also agree that a sway control device is a smart move..., even in applications where a WDH isn't required.

I had the Blue Ox on for a season and it was fine. If you don't think about which way you are turning the lever and put it on the wrong side (hard to explain), it will snap you forward when it releases. The unit is heavy so I made sure I could pick it up okay (I'm small female) before I purchased it. The disadvantage with the RPod I had was that it sat so low and the bars curve downward so they scraped in some instances turning in places. I am getting the heavier bars now to accommodate the WhiteHawk 21FBS I'm in process of purchasing so since it sits higher, I'm thinking that won't be an issue. And let me tell those of you who argue that you don't need weight distribution and sway system for lighter trailers that they make a difference. I "went without" for a couple of years and once I'd added them, I felt much safer when the big auto carriers blew past me on a windy day!

I've had two Equal-I-zer hitches with two different sized trailers. Been using them for over a decade and have had great towing experiences with both. Very stable, easy to use, no sway.
