Ok my new to me 165 is currently winterized and the water heater plug is out. I live in KY we've been having 75 degree days for a week or so now, and mid 50's at night. We generally get a late frost up until May 15th. I'm itching to try out my water systems but afraid of a cold snap. If I play with the water system this weekend while it's nice and warm and drain the lowpoint when I'm done do you think everything would be ok if it was to dip down to freezing for one night? Guess what I'm asking is wouldn't the camper insulate itself to a certain point and wouldn't it have to get very cold to freeze water in the pipes inside the camper, maybe like mid 20's?
I would think that it would have to be below freezing for a few hours to hurt. This time of year, at least in southern Missouri, it might dip to freezing but just for a short time.

I opened my 32BHDS a few weeks ago. We have had a few nights where the temperature has gotten to around 30-32 degrees for a few hours over night. I haven't had any issues with freezing. When we leave our seasonal site we shut off the water and basically just drain the residual pressure from the faucets and shower. We don't disconnect or open the low point drain.
Remember that water starts to freeze at 32 degrees so a few hours just below freezing "shouldn't" cause excessive freezing. Additionally, if water does freeze, as long as it has somewhere to expand it "shouldn't" cause damage. With a good portion of the lines purged of standing water there "should" be enough room for a little expansion.
Of course, when I get back up to my site next weekend I could have a big surprise......... But I doubt it.
I only worry when the night temps reach mid to low 20s for more than a couple of hours. Around 32 is no big deal. In fact, leave a half empty bottle of water in your car. It won't freeze solid until temps are well under 32 for more than a few hours.

I picked up my trailer a month ago and had them dewinterize it, even though we were still getting some frost in the mornings. The dealer blew out the water lines. I wasn't worried about freezing. I have left my trailer with water in it when there's a light frost without issues.
If you have access to a air source a blowout plug is cheap.

A small compressor and 10 minutes of time, and you can bypass the Hot water heater and blow water out of the lines without loading antifreeze

I don't think a frosty night or two will hurt a thing. The trailer will warm up during the day and will hold heat for hours.
