It has done nothing but rain here all day long! Weather guys say 50% for Sunday and again for Labor Day!!

So glad we decided not to go. I feel bad for the campers though......

I can understand that....but...we've been in a drought for 4-5 years and we were discussing how nice it would be to camp in the rains for 4-5 days. Just watch it rain.

+1. And I would be more than happy to set up or tear down in the rain, that wouldn't bother me even a little bit! This drought is just absurd, I will never complain about the rain again!

With work, school and sports schedules we felt this was the only time we could get away for an extended weekend. We headed out from Phoenix for our property yesterday 180 miles away (it takes us about 3 1/2 hours) to the White Mountains of AZ. Left at 3:30 on Friday drove 32 miles and the highway was closed due to an accident, 7 mile backup. Detour was about 20 miles of dirt road and the very steep switchback roads through the canyon at night. At least a 3 hour delay. Decided to turn around head back home and try in the morning. Tried again at 3:45 am and made it by 7:00 am and had a wonderful breakfast outside. Enjoying the cooler weather in the mountains compared to the desert heat. It became a short weekend but we are having a great time and we are safe.

Me toooo, and I'm ready to start my late summer early fall travels. Won't stop till almost Thanksgiving. Grants Pass, Or. is one of my favorite stops for many days before I hit the coast. As you can see I don't need a boat for this fishing spot!
