Squeaky Springs.....

I have a 2012 Jay Flight 154 and the springs/undercarriage squeaks so loud I feel I am awakening the whole campground! I have tried WD-40 and that helps for a short while. Any other ideas as to fixes either temporary or permanent? Thanks!

I like a product call Fluid-Film. It can be purchased at most Autozone parts stores and I have also found it at Tractor dealers. It goes on and wont easily wash off, unlike WD40. The only down side of it is it will collect dirt and debris.
I don't know if it will solve your problem, but it couldn't hurt....

WD-40 is a very poor lubricant. Look at a bike shop for a spray on dry chain lube. Avoid anything that leaves a sticky residue as it will collect dirt.

us71na has the right solution. Bike shops sell a product called TRI_FLOW. it comes in a spray can and is not cheap but it works excellent. Worth the money.

A Canadian friend gave me a can of spray lub. that also was excellent but I forgot the name and the can is in Az.

WD-40 is a moisture displacer but a poor lubricant.

I saw this on one of the many car shows on TV these days. you pack grease by hand in between the springs, try your best to shove it in. Then wrap the spring with duct tape and go on your next trip. Peal the tape off when you get home and your done. Good luck

If you tow a lot you might consider a "wet Bolt " kit which replaces the nylon sleeve on the spring shackle with a brass sleeve and a bolt with a zerk fitting on it. That is where most of the noise and wear comes from.

Also they make a new sleeve that has permanent lubricant infused in it that is supposed to accomplish the same thing with out changing the bolts.

When I was a lad working in a service station, we used to squirt brake fluid on the springs.

Second on the wet bolts. WD40 is a great cleaner and bug remover but not good for lubrication.

I think that the wet bolts I installed helped the squeaking, but my trailer still squeaks a lot, especially when turning- like in a campground loop. I'll try some dry lubrication of some sort between the spring leaves and see if that helps.
