Talking Christmas gift help

My wife wants a new cordless vacuum for in the camper. What is the best cordless vacuum for pet hair/dirt? Of course I have searched the net and get a wide varitiey of ideas but I was looking for first hand advice. I'm Trying to be budget minded as we only camp 5 or so weeks a year. Thanks for any input.

We use the red Dirt Devil that sits in the base to recharge. It does a pretty good job. About $40 as I recall.

Dyson, but it's pricey...but it does an AMAZING job with pet hair.

X2 Dyson. We have found it to be the only one worth a damn. The others, all varying prices, just didn't seem to work for us.

We have a corded dyson at the house I kinda figured it would be a good idea for the camper as well only in a cordless vacuum.

The problem with anything cordless is the limited run time on a charge and the longevity (life span) of the battery. If you can get a replacement it is usually almost the original price of the tool. The holding capacity of the dirt chamber on the cordless vacs are limited. We travel with a yellow lab and a jack. The lab provides enough tumbleweed to knit a sweater. Tried a small corded shark vac without a power head and it took too long so we will now carry the canister dyson from the house. There should be an option for no carpet throughout!

My wife replaced everything she had for vacuuming with a "SharK",even her Dyson got sent to the church resale shop.
However, you posted this was a Christmas gift.trust me,just buy her one and get something that isn't an appliance for a gift.Life will be oh so much happier for you.
I have been looking for mine a new fishing reel or maybe a new rifle,LOL

We were not happy with cordless vac. The battery is hard to keep charged and a bear to replace. We use a Shark Navigator plus from Walmart. It is one of the few appliances we tote back and forth to the house, my wife likes it so much. Like $130.

Words of wisdom: Never give your wife a vacuum for Christmas or any other holiday.

Getting one's better half a vacuum for Christmas!

That said, equipment wise, we have an old Regina stick vac but I use the broom more often. We drag the Dyson in from the house after a trip.

I know I wouldn't buy it if she didn't ask for it . We are in our 40s and don't really need much. We usually just go buy what we want, so if she asks for anything for Christmas she gets it. Yes I guess we are spoiled.

I love my Dyson stick vacuum - it wasn't cheap though - around $300 at Costco? I use it for home in the kitchen and bathrooms, and it goes with us in the trailer on every trip. It's awesome, and holds a charge very well (have had it for about a year and a half now.)

Dirt Devil 15.6 volts

I know a vacuum cleaner isn't the greatest Christmas present but if DW asked for one, get her one (and save the receipt so she can return it if it doesn't perform to her satisfaction). With that said, I am on my second Dirt Devil 15.6 volt rechargeable Accu-charge vacuum. I use it on carpet here in the house and in the TT and although it doesn't fluff the carpet up like my Electrolux does, it does a great job of getting the dirt sucked up. My first one was given to me, the second I bought at Overstock.com. It was about the same price as a new battery. When this battery goes, I will probably go to the place that just sells batteries and buy a replacement as I think they are better, longer-lasting batteries. Love my Dirt Devil. In between the 2 rechargeable Dirt Devils I did buy a corded one. Didn't take me long to return it as it had no suction at all!

Not to hijack this thread but can anybody direct me to a website that has good accessories? I've tried camping world, bass pro and cabellas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The wife loves the trailer and she is asking for things for it.

Maybe if you list some of the things DW is asking for, some of us might be able to give you some ideas of where to shop for them.
