Tongue Jack scraping/modification?

Have a new 1207UD PUP which we enjoy. It barely clears the sloped driveway when pulling into the house. If I get it at about 45 degrees to the slope, the tongue jack will scrape just a little on the road when it is fully retracted. If I raise the hitch, then the rear stabilizer pads scrape.

Is there a way to modify the tongue jack so it raises even further. All I need is for it to retract another inch or so?

Thanks much in advance.

Check out this. It will allow you to shorten the jack.

Move them inwards about 3 ft. or whatever you need as a angle of clearance. Have also seen some installing a caster. The wheel is just a bit higher than the retracted S-jack. It doesn't take much for those flimsy jacks to bend.

Or flip the axles to raise the entire trailer...

just for clarification, flipping the axles means putting the spring perches on top of the axle instead of below. You can't truly flip an axle since they are curved to oppose the load.

If you have a torsion axle I've heard of people adding spacers where the axle mounts to the frame.

My drive way is steep as well.. what I did was place a length of 2x10 behind the rear wheels just before the jack scraped the ground. this raised the hitch up just enough to clear and is CHEAP... and easy..

Put casters on the back of my hybrid to solve that type of problem. They work great and only touch for a bare second. Made my own from some heavy metal and caster wheels.
