Yep that is exactly where the pool noodles rest.

Jayco 242BHS schematic of back wall structure

Old thread but still relevant since I was just looking for info on the blocking required in the wall to support the ladder mounts.

I thought I’d share some info that I found today when I was at the dealership/rv store with the intent of ordering a ladder to access the roof.

It was very awkward... apparently I’m the only one putting a ladder on my camper. The parts guy just couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that I wanted quick and easy access to my future solar installation, as well as all the joints and seams etc. for maintenance and cleaning.

After insisting again that I wished to install a ladder, and after listening to every excuse in the book why it’s not a good idea, I noticed a photocopy of the blueprint schematic for my camper on the counter and I asked anoother clerk for a copy of it since the other guy was not going to give it to me.

So I have the schematic here, which clearly shows the skeleton of the back wall, viewed from inside the camper.

Now can anyone here look at it and tell me why it’s such an issue (apparently) to mount a darn ladder? I see what looks like 1/2” plywood blocking, and it’s in the exact spots where the standoff mounts would go. And the entire exterior back wall should be sheathed with plywood under the siding?

Run down a copy of your roof schematic as well.

I didn’t get those, unfortunately. Only the back wall.

Send Jayco cust service a contact form with your vin, since it is out of warranty(?), they should send one.

Might ask for others down the road this same way, just not all at once.

My warranty begins tomorrow when I pick up the new trailer from the dealer. So I guess it’ll be two years before I get my schematics.
