I have the answer

I know this is an old thread but I just got a Jayco and had the same issue with the valance over the door. Popped off the button covers, unscrewed the three screws - stuck. So I went looking for answers. Found out they screwed a board to the top of the door under the valance. Here’s the kicker - the upholstery is UNDER this board and the valance is attached with staples to this board as well. If you get an exacto knife behind it on the top you can cut it out from behind the board and pull it off. Pain. But it is done. I tried to take pics but the angles are weird.

At the time I just gave up so I screwed the shade right to the valance and so far it’s as steady as a rock.
I put in a clear window.
