storage/cargo carrier mods any one?

I have the bike/cargo carrier on my TT. Since it is stored almost 300 miles away, I thought perhaps I could utilize the cargo carrier for storage. Camp chairs, beach chairs, outdoor mats etc. I thought perhaps like a patio box or something. Any one tried a similar mod? Does someone know by chance the ecact inside dimensions of the cargo carrier? Sam's Club has a large patio box that would work well, but it might be too large.

update...just left Lowes. They have a Lifetime 60Lx24WX26H 130gallon deck box. It does weigh 56 pounds. I don't dare buy it and haul it 300 miles to find out it doesn't fit. It is nice, sturdy and appears water tight. A place to lock as well. I know everyone is busy, camping etc with it being the weekend and all, but please if someone with the Jayco optional cargo carrier gets a chance, measure the inside dimensions. It will save me a few headaches.

AHHH heck! Thank you for taking the time to measure. It looks like it is going to be about 1/2 inch too small. The search continues!

Ours is 23.75 in wide and 64.5 in long. You could pull it out an extra inch and drill new holes for the pin if you need to get things farther from the bumper.
