As long as people continue to sacrifice quality for convenience, there will be vendors who continue to provide mediocre products and services.

vote with your dollars. It is the only thing that will make a change for the better.

Greatest advice provided was do not sign until what was promised is fulfilled!!! You paid for it.

This is a great checklist, and it saves me the trouble of making up my own. I have been enjoying the RV lifestyle for 10 years and do all of my own maintenance and repair work, at least as far as possible. I grew up building houses with my Dad, then 20 yrs in the Army as a Helicopter Repairman, then another 20 as a LEO. Along the way I was a Ham radio operator, Genset repairman, and built PC's and websites, I mention all of this because I have used checklists for many years, even for things I did every day, as a way of not missing anything. I pay very close attention to detail, and I normally know what I am looking at. So.... I pick up my new Alante from the Tucson CW on 1/4, and I pity the PDI person I get.

Leaving for Indiana in the morning. I really appreciate all the effort that went into producing this PDI checklist.

Do not think the dealer will be as impressed. LOL.

I willl make a note on my list right now, next to checking torque on lug nuts.

Thanks again.

Did the dealer do anything about the tires?

Thanks for your time (and experience) in putting this list together - very comprehensive & thorough, plus easy to understand. This list will be used!

One item that should be added to the PDI for motor homes is to check the headlights. Quite a few of the Jayco Precepts have the headlights not aimed properly to the point of being a safety issue.

Awesome thank you
our PDI is in three weeks
Do you happen to have a "preflight" inspection checklist as well?
I am putting something together to keep track of mileage and wheel bearing /general trailer service, tire pressures etc but any ideas to add would be great
Thanks

My tires were a year old.

I had it documented on the RO and attached to my paperwork, along with all the other problems I found.

We will see what I will or will not get fixed under warranty. I am not optimistic. It seems that Jayco's favorite saying is "that is acceptable".

The wrinkles in the roof are the most glaring problem I found that will probably not get fixed. I will try to remember to update everyone, once I get to a local dealer in Houston.

I really felt like Indiana RV Connection just wanted to push off all the repairs to another dealer. Specifically, one I will have to find in Houston.

The service manager also tried to charge me for 3 hours labor for my PDI inspection. I refused to pay it and had to get in my truck and unhitch the trailer before the service manager came running out and backing down.

DO NOT get emotionally attached to the RV. You have to be willing to walk away. And, do not pay until you have completed and documented all the problems.

Good luck but do not get too worked up about the process. It seems that everyone's favorite comment is, "thats acceptable".

Leaves a real bad taste in your mouth.

PI in PDF Version

I took the time to add some check boxes, break it out by pages and convert to PDF to make it easier to see and follow when you're in the PDI process.

Theres also the Word format in case anyone wants to customize their own but you'll have to PM me for that.

Enjoy!

That's a really good job Inthewind. That makes a good PDI list even better and easier to follow.
This needs to be a sticky that is easily found.

Congratulations! Is this a present to yourself for being on the 'good' list?

Is your question directed at me? If so, kinda. I found a great deal on a new 2016 at a dealer willing to take my class c in trade at the value I wanted. Win-win!
