Question about hail damage to aluminum on 32BHDS

Hello friends,

We just got back from a six week trip. Good time, but got some hail damage near Drumheller, Alberta, mostly on the rear of the trailer, but some on one side.

I called my insurer and will take it in for a claim. Question, is it a huge job to repair/replace some damaged siding? Also, can you get replacement decals from Jayco, to maintain the integrity of the designs. Any comments from those who have experienced and/or fixed hail damage would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Ensign.

Fairly certain decals can be purchased at the dealer, siding I don't think is really a huge repair if they replace but not 100% sure

From what I have read on other forums it is not an easy job. lots to take apart and then replace each piece of siding, taking windows out cutting the holes for new windows, etc etc etc. going to be pretty expensive

Shouldn't have to take out windows with aluminum siding. We had three sides of our old Jayco Eagle 215SD damaged by hail, the dealer just took all the old stuff off and replaced it with new siding and new decals. It was pretty expensive, over $4,000, but the insurance company stepped up and we only had to pay the deductible.

We had hail damage once and turned the repair bids in to the insurance company. They sent us a check and we paid off the trailer with the money. You know that 13 years later those small dents didn't cost us a dime as we got good money when we sold it. So it kind of depends on how long you plan on keeping the trailer.

I had a 2001 eagle 312 FKS and I developed a couple dents in the side that just happened to be between the two doors. In this case they had to remove the two doors to do the job.The most expensive part of the job is naturally the labor and as far as decals from what I was told Jayco only stocks graphics for 3 years after a change is made to new model graphics. When their gone there gone and any graphic that is no longer avaliable will have to be custom made $$$$$. Another thing to think about is if the rest graphics on your trailer are faded the new one won't be an exact match in color.

I was out at our local dealership last fall. For some reason in their PDI area. Which is separated from the rest of the shop via a large glass wall, which makes it really easy to see. They had an aluminum sided TT in having it’s siding replaced due to hail damage. I spoke to one of the service techs about it, they said they had to strip the whole side down to the floor boards, windows, doors, awning, everything was gone. I wish I had a camera with me. You could see the whole structure of how the unit was framed up, the insulation job and all. Overall I was impressed by the quality of construction. From what I saw it was a huge job.
