Switch for propane??
Hi All,
I have a 2010 EXP-17. I have been trying with no luck to get my fridge to work on propane. It is a 3 way and has auto lite when in LP mode. I can hear the igniter clicking then it goes into shut down mode. I have bled the lines and have even tried once at our site to try propane mode again, to no avail. The owners manual mentions a switch, but I cannot find one anywhere. Any suggestions? am I overlooking something?
Thanks.

Have you tried lighting a burner on your range top before trying the fridge? I use to have issues in my old camper until someone told me to try this.

Switch for propane??
The fridge in our trailer will only try like three times to lite before u have to turn it off and back on. I make sure to open the propane tank valve very slowly and I kick the furnace on. As soon as the furnace blows warm I shut it back off. Then I turn the fridge on and it works everytime.
U can turn the range on instead of the furnace as howie mentioned. We have never used our range or stove and doubt we ever will.

There is a small on/off valve in the gas line at the rear of the fridge. That may be what is turned off, some have a little lever others are just a round serated knob.

+1 on running the stove, it usually works pretty well for me. Never had it try to light more than twice. But if you said you bled the lines already, there might be something else wrong. Last time I had that problem, it was the safety valve on my tank. I turned off the tanks, ran the stove until it stopped, then back out to the tank valves, took off the pigtails and tapped them on the valves for good measure, and turned the valves back on VERY slowly. Went back and lit stove until I had a good flame, then flipped the switch on the fridge and was back in business.

Wild guess. Have you removed the covers (outside) for your fridge and made sure there aren't any spider webs or mud dobbers nests blocking the LP flow to the ignite?. Those little critters can bring a camping trip to it's knees.

Thanks for all the replies. I have bled the lines by lighting the stove, have had the furnace running and still no light on the fridge. Same here with three tries, shuts down and have to start over. I will again look for the on/off switch in the back of the fridge. This should be "outside under the removable cover"?

Thanks Grumpy, this is what I was talking about. I will further investigate this.

Sounds like u bled the lines properly. I'm not aware of a switch but if there is one it would have to be accessible from the outside access panel. If u find a switch let us know. I've never opened the outside panel.

Is your trailer fairly level? My fridge won't run on propane unless it's close. On my rv pad next to my garage I would need two 2x6 under the tires on one side to get it level and the fridge won't work on propane there. I have to keep it on shore power when it's parked there.

Thanks again to all that replied to my question. Turns out Grumpy hit the nail on the head! There was a serrated knob on the propane line to the back of the fridge located under the outside access panel. I don't know how I missed it. Anyway, it now works on the propane. Sorry I am late posting this, but was out camping and just got back to a computer.

I had no idea there was a gas valve in the fridge compartment. Makes perfect sense tho. We're heading out in a couple of weeks and I will make sure I have located this lil critter. Bou - thanks for asking this question! Grumpster - thanks for the answer!
