I am a new Jayco owner and I have a question. I seem to be blowing 30 amp fuses at the battery when using the power jack. It usually happens when I try raise an already fully raised jack. I realize I am going the wrong direction with it, but is it normal to blow the fuses that quickly. The guy at make ready blew two fuses himself with the same mistake.

Yes. I marked my jack with colored electrical tape just short of fully extended and fully retracted.

I have heard that will do it. My electric on the previous TT had a clutch that would engage when fully retracted (click, click, click...) so I didn't have the issue. The tape sounds like a good idea (also keep a supply of 30A handy).

I'm not sure if it will fit but you may be able to use a circuit breaker in place of the fuse. It will automatically reset itself. They make them in blade style like the fuses.

I looked at the circuit breakers for the in-line fuse for my jack. The trouble is that the blade type ones are actually a little bigger than the fuse itself, so it won't fit in the little rubber boot that is wired into the circuit. So I just carry a fist full of 30A fuses... for now. I have a lot of other mods on my list before I get to that one...

Though I've never had my jack blow the fuse before, and DW used to be really bad at running the jack until it stopped itself. I finally got her trained right so I know we won't blow fuses...
