Stupid shower curtain question

Just bought a 2005 31BHS and want to replace the shower curtain. It has cheap plastic sliding hooks that don't detach from the curtain. It looks like you have to take the track off of the ceiling just to get it off. Is the only option to put up a conventional expanding shower curtain bar or is there replacment of this type out there? I know its a stupid question but I have owned several other trailers and have never seen this before. Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the Jayco Owners Forum Wilkie! I've never replaced a curtain before. Someone will probably have the answer, but in case not, call Jayco direct.

We had that type of shower curtain, it was a pain so I took it down went to Wally World and bought a conventional expanding shower curtain bar. The type that you screw into the walls (with screws) after expanding it. At least now the curtain is easy to remove, clean/replace and put back up.

I also have the same kind of shower curtain rod, I was also concerned so I had my dealer order me an extra shower curtain from Jayco so I'll have it when curtain needs to be replaced.

I know this thread is pretty old, but this may really help a few others out there.

I have the 2011 X23J Expandable Hybrid camper and the shower curtain is(or should I say "was") the stupid plastic curved non-removable curtain.

I went to www.curtain-tracks.com and looked at the bendable aluminum tracks.

Total for materials (for the track) was approx $25, however shipping was also $25

But we can no use any regular shower curtain and is removable for cleaning....

I just picked up our new Jayco and also wanted to replace the shower curtain. The clips just snap off and back on. I used a stitch ripper to unpick the tape with the clips off the old curtain and then simply sewed it onto the new one.

Ladywendolyn, how did you get the clips to "just snap off and back on" without breaking? I've tried screwdrivers and pliers, and not had much luck. I REALLY want to wash this shower curtain! HELP!

Do you have a photo of the clips? Just wondering if the ones that you have to remove the track to slide off.

I had ordered a replacement stock curtain from Jayco it was $50 .

Sorry, just looked at the receipt as the price did seem high. It was ~$50 shipped for 2 replacement OEM curtains. It was actually a good investment as when we sold the camper, I had installed one of the new curtains and I think it helped with the over all appearance of the bathroom/camper.

I have uploaded a picture 3 times, written a response, and only God knows where it is going. Sorry.

I don't see removing the ceiling screws more than once as an option, because this plastic will surely strip.

Removing the screws will work, just take your time. On one end, remove 2 phillips head screws going into the ceiling which will allow you to pull the shower curtain out.

This is a mod I did on my J Flight 23RB. Took out the old shower curtain and the bar(?) the curtain hung on, and installed this double bar shower curtain. I wanted to hang the brightly colored curtain, but needed a different kind of hanger.

This one allows me to hand the curtain, and still have an extra bar to hand my towel to dry.

For some reason Pix #2 is displaying sideways, and Pix #3 is displaying upside down.

Where did you get that rod? It’s perfect.
Is it screwed into a stud?
