homemade sparkling drinks

Both of us being diabetics, the DW and I are always on the lookout for sugar free drinks that taste good and do not have aspertame. We found a couple of sparkling drinks, called IZZE and SWITCH that we like, but have too much sugar. So Gayle came up with a recipe for homemade drinks that taste just as good, are good for diabetics, and are much cheaper than IZZE or SWITCH. For those who might be interested, here is how she makes them:

1. 1/3 to 1/2 glass full of crushed ice
2. Add seltzer water (your choice of flavor) to within a couple of inches of top of glass.
3. Fill remainder of glass with your favorite flavor of juice (grape, apple, cranberry, etc).
4. Add 2-3 packets of Splenda sweetener to taste and stir.

We like them, maybe you will, too.

You should check out sodastreamusa.com you can make your own soda water and put whatever you want in the soda to you liking. Our family has been using it for about 10 years and love it.

Just got the soda stream and we love it......my wife found it for half price...it just carbonized the water and you just add the flavour. I have used juice from lemons or lime with a bit of Splenda. Great thirst quencher
