Electrical trouble shooting. Check power to light socket , check fuses, check wiring. Etc.

If you have a remote, try using the outside light button on the remote first. Sometimes they are in "override" mode when the dealer preps them (means they used the remote instead of the inside switches).

Clear light that acts as a security light. Not all units have them, mine does not.

We've got 2 of 'em. One on the Door Side high on the nose and the other on the opposite side high near the rear cap. They give kind of a flood light effect. The door-side is connected to the remote.

My 5th wheel has one one each side in the rear. It lights up the neighhbor pretty good haha... I'm sure there would be some knocks on the door if this got turned on at a camp ground.

Mine has a weep hole in the bottom of the large lens and one side filled up over time and was running water inside the trailer through where the wiring went. I was scratching my head on that one until I noticed the weep hole was on the top and not the bottom like the other side scare light was.

My two lights are right under the roof drain spout...

The scare light on my OFF-ROAD POPUP gets used alot. It is mounted on from wall where the front deck is. Perfect light for hooking up the trailer.

That's a key point, insuring that when the lens are attached the weep hole/slot is in the correct location.

This also applies to marker lights..., years ago I found that one of my marker lights had the plastic base installed with the weep-slot facing up, had to remove it and re-install correctly. Over the years moisture would still build up in them so I just drilled a small weep-hole in the bottom of the plastic lenses (no more moisture).

Update:
fixed the light, removed the switch checked and discovered it had no power into the switch. further checking discovered the switch only had power when the awning switch was used. Long story short is they had the scare light switch powered from the awning motor wire instead of the other black wire that provides continous power to the awning switch. simply unhooked the wrong wire and put the tee into the correct wire.

The last one I changed on my FIL's 5'er was an 1156 bulb. Was a common back up light bulb for older cars and tricks. Should be available about anywhere.

Here's my "Scare Light" I don't need a remote for this one! They don't steal from me but occasionally they leave something behind.

My two had 1156's which are about worthless if you really want to use them for any period of time - too short life.

I replaced both of mine with the brightest LED bulb I could find and now they do put out a lot more light and I can actually use them if I want or need to. They were burned out for 4 years or so before I decided to replace the build.

I ordered some LED's that were compatible with the incandescent bulb. I have been happy with them for several years.

We don't use them for scaring, just to see when walking dogs at night.

One pet peeve is those that leave them on all the time at night.

Now these would come in handy for backing up at night.
