Sewer Hose Suspender

Didn't know the best place to discuss this - but I wanted to share my idea for an inexpensive lightweight sewer hose trough.

Using a piece of 3" vinyl corner bead, I cut off the nailer tabs, and cut down a second piece so it slides into the first. It's 5' long when retracted....but it extends to 9'. I cut some velcro bands to hold the hose in the trough and prevent sag.

The main goal is to keep a a straight non-sagging hose (even under weight during draining) from the TT to the septic hole.

I'm kind of excited to try it out....

Excellent idea sir. I did something similar with some very inexpensive guttering. Let us know how it works out. Looks like the corner bead takes up much less space than the gutters.

Can you get that in the bumper as pictured (hose, bead, and velcro)?

Hadn't even thought of that!....it's certainly small enough at 3.25 x 3.25. I'll check it tomorrow!

I was planning on the rain gutter method but this looks even better.

How about a strap at the end to support the weight of the hose at the connection point, so the weight is not on the fitting.

Great idea. How did you cut the nail tabs off?

I agree a strap or support at the TT connection will be a big help to prevent any initial sag....much of the weight of the hose will be carried at that point.....thanks!

A razorknife works great....score, snap and polish the edges a little.

Joe - necessity (and a limited budget) is the mother of invention.... I enjoy the varied talent on here.

....and as it goes, looks like "we have winner" fitting everything into the 4" bumper (RhinoFlex, Sewer Hose Trough and Sewer Adaptor), . It still needs some field testing before the final stamp of approval....but I think it's going to work out OK.

Awesome. I may just have to give away my gutter trough to someone and make one of these for myself!

I use thin wall PVC cut in half. This pic only shows one section cause I am so close. I carry it in the rear bumper.

Sewer Hose Suspender

Treated 1x4 painted. I repaint them when I am dreaming of going camping.
The supports have cuts that match the PVC angle and the tallest has one in the side to allow it to lay on its side. The 2 sections can nestle and be adjusted to almost any length.
