Dehumidifiers
We are looking at getting a dehumidifier to use in the TT. We will be wintering on Vancouver Island. It's pretty damp there to begin with, plus with cooking on propane, showers, breathing....we don' want moisture in the walls becoming an issue. Looking at various makes and models, but it really helps to have some first hand experience help. Any suggestions, advice, ideas will be greatly appreciated .

I JUST bought this one. Havent tried it in the trailer yet but I have plugged it in at home. Amazingly enough, still draws water even though my place is air conditioned.

I bought a Fridgidare from Lowes. It is only used when we are parked at home.

Wasabi and Tunce...thanks for the link and recommendation. A question....it says it collects 20 oz. a day. I've seen other units that collect a lot more than that. Would this be for a less humid environment? Vancouver Island is pretty wet. Not sure if this would keep up with that as well as 3 humans and 4 critters in a 31 foot TT. Thoughts?
Norty..how do you like the Fridgidare? Do you have any details on it? I think we are hoping t get one we can drain with a tube/hose into the bathtub so it never shuts itself off when full.

I'll through out some advice...
We have a fantastic fan in our bathroom. When it is humid, taking a shower or cooking indoors we crack the vent and turn on the fan. It really moves enough air to simply vent the humidity to the outside. No tanks to drain or worry about.

I don't know the model but in has a hose connection for external drain and a 1 1/2 gal tank. It shuts off when the tank is full. I can take a pic and get the model # if you are interested.

I would stay away from the Professional Series brand... We bought one a few years back and it only lasted one summer. Just recently I needed another and my folks had an old one they weren't using, so they gave it to us. The thing must be 20 years old, but still keeps our basement dry...

We have used them in closets and such. We didn't care for them.
