What Should I Have in My Toolbox?
We are newbie - green first timers - campers. Never owned a camper before. I am sure on our travels, especially the first, something will need tightening or loosened etc. What do you all pack in your camper toolbox?

I bring too many tools as well. I have a full Craftsman mechanics tool set that includes a full set of 1/4, 3/8, & 1/2 inch drive socket set, metric and standard with extensions of varying lengths. I've added sockets that fit my hitch and lugs on TV AND TT along with a 150 lb torque wrench. Full set of screw drivers with Torx and Allen adapters, extra screws, nuts and bolts. Duct and electrical tape, wire cutters, 4pc set of adjustable slide lock pliers, standard adjustable pliers, and I'm sure there's more.
My dad and I once had to drop the fuel tank on our Suburban (4x4, so we had to drop the skid plate as well) in the desert to replace a disabled fuel pump. That is the event I remember when I'm packing tools for a trip. That's when I truly learned why my dad carried so many tools; and now I carry more than he ever did!

Tools should reflect talent, if you know what its for and can use it you should own it. However, tools are heavy so I cover every possible task with less than perfect tools so I can keep my RV tool box from needing a fork lift to load it.

A very good point, but all that stuff I listed doesn't weigh that much, and the right tool when you need it is worth its weight in gold.

I have lots of tools at home and know how to use them. In the htt, I carry the basics. Jack, lug nut wrench, spare fuses, #2 square screw driver, adjustable wrench, tape, twine, light bulbs, and a few other thing. It all fits in a tiny tool box.
Just think about what you would need during an issue, and what different issues may occur.

My list is mostly repeats...
Spare TT Fuses
First Aid Kit (buy a decent one)
Lashing Rope
Scrap Roll Duct Tape
Multi-Meter
Multi-Tool (Leatherman, etc.)
Multi-Tip Driver Tool
Medium Size Adjustable Wrench
Lug Wrench that fits your TT
Small 12V Rechargeable LED Flashlight
Seams like alot....with the exception of the lug wrench, my list couldn't fill a small shoebox. I also carry copies of the helpful diagram below....

I carry the basic tools I would need for any easier repair I may need to do, both mechanical and electrical. But the most important tool you may need to have is a credit card with a lot of room on it. If you have any major repairs like a blown motor or tranny goes out you will need some sort of way to pay for it as most places no longer take checks and most debit cards have a low daily limit for security reasons.

I would recommend a ratcheting screwdriver with interchangeable bits such as this Gearwrench
With a smartly chosen variety of bits, you will have about any potential screw driver need covered by carrying only one screwdriver instead of many. This can be important for a small tool bag kept in the truck or camper.
And make sure you get decent stuff and not cheap crap. Being 100 miles from the nearest town is not the time to be kicking yourself because your cheap assed tool did not work or it broke the first time you tried to use it.
Myself, I've been accused of going a bit overboard at times. This is a little of what I put together for camping:
Just kidding, that's part of my tool box at work.

You could pack everything in the garage and still be missing that one perfect tool! I will say when camping, everyone has a few tools that most are happy to share!
