Parking/marker Lights Lens Cover

I have a 2007 Jayco Baja 10Y. I have issues with the lenses staying on the parking/marker lights. From the first time I towed to today I loose at least one lens every trip. Very first time I towed it on the freeway I lost 2 yellow lenses on the front of the trailer. Does anybody have any tips on how to keep them on but also be able to easily take the lenses off to replace the bulbs?

Thanks in advance,

Scott

Scott,

Welcome to JOF

I had the same problem with one of my front marker lenses a few years ago and I just put a little bit of my Dicor caulking along the top edge of the light base and the lens stays put. I have pulled the lens off since then and the caulking was still tacky enough to hold the lens in place when I put it back on.

I'm sure there are a lot better ideas out there short of replacing the marker light assembly, and JOF members will have some other ideas.

Bob

Use a small dab of clear silicon.

Clean the lens and the light housing wit alcohol. Apply a small amount of clear silicon to where the lens snaps to the housing(not all the way around, 4 small locations). When the need arises to replace bulb, simply cut the silicon with knife edge or razor blade.

I did the same as what Bob did with the Dicor caulk. Haven't had to do it on our Jayco yet, but I had to do it on Mom & Dad's Dutchmen.

I, too, had this problem. I lost one on the trip from the dealer to home on the day we purchased the trailer. I used some LocTite Fun-Tak to secure them. This problem seems to be extremely common. One would think Jayco would find a different vendor for these marker lights.
