WOW, when I talked to my Carefree factory Rep. he insisted that the knobs be loose on the electric awnings unless you want to "tip" one side for water drainage.

BTW Dometic says the same thing.

Every brand new (or used for that matter) unit I deliver has a sticking awning. It is the way the arms fold together. They fit very tight. Unless you are perfectly level, they will likely stick. Even at perfection, they still sometimes stick.

Unless installed incorrectly, and that's hard to do, it a quality control issue with the awning maker.

Mine did the same thing, I rubbed a little slick 50 on the rod of the shock, and that fixed it.
