Thumbs up Dreher Island SP pics

Couple pics from our site this past weekend at Dreher Island State Park on Lake Murray SC. Last time we were here a few yrs ago we scouted potential future sites and luckly we were able to book this beauty on a point. Got AM sun rise and PM sunset which was a bonus too. They added the rocks since last visit which took made it a little difficult launching the kayak but not a big deal.

Yes, it was VERY hard to leave there. Fortunatly the wifey scoped out the weather forcast the evening before we were to depart and saw heavy rain moving in overnight. We were able to pack up chairs, mat, grill etc and store them in the TV so it wasnt all soaked when leaving (nothing worse than packing up in the rain).

3B- Its a Ascend D10 sit-in recreational that I added some stuff to make it more of fishing yak (flush holders, trolley line, addl bungees, crate etc). Going to sell it more than likely and go with a SOT type to handle waves better out in the ocean or even a touring yak. I havent really decided yet but its a hefty 55-60lbs.
