Traffic Jam

I usually hate traffic jams, but was glad to have one at the CG this morning. I was heading out when a fellow camper, also leaving, started down the street towards me. He decided to backup to let me by, but hadn't gone more than a couple of feet before he stopped, got out and headed to the back of his truck, grabbing a piece of 4x4 on his way. Turns out he had connected the TT to the V right behind the coupler, not the coupler itself, so nothing happened, other than some scraping, when he tried to back-up. Needless to say he was extremely embarrassed! I helped him get things back the way they should be, and once we'd reconnected properly, jacked the tongue up a bit to be sure the connection was good. His TV/TT combo was such that he didn't need a WDH, so hadn't tried to jack the tongue up before heading out the first time.

Very thankful he found the issue while still in the CG and not out on the road, especially as I would likely have been behind him. Nothing besides pride was hurt, and I have a feeling he's going to be extra careful next time he hooks up...
