I did something similar however I added some clothing storage drawers. I got a sheet of OAK plywood and built a box with one shelve. I got a sheet of press board ( looks like peg board without the holes). Cut into sizes then assembled with some industrial strength tape. The went to the fabric store an picked out a some material I liked. Then cut out pattern and hot glued on to drawers. Then I mounted the locking cantilever mount to the box/51564. Now the wife packed the drawers in the house we carry out to the camper.

Just wanted to say thank you! I just got finished doing the same thing and worked like a charm!

Wow I love this idea better than the last one. I'm going to start work on this next week.

How do you secure the tv when traveling. I tried hook on the wall but it just broke off. Thanks

I'm resurrecting this post, since I'll be installing my Tv/DVD combo on Thursday evening, just in time for our trip on Friday morning. Hopefully everything goes as planned...

My 2yo son is finally starting to watch TV for a few minutes in the morning, so hopefully this will hold his attention inside the camper, until the rest of the CG wakes up!

Not sure that's a good idea. My understanding is Jayco includes a wooden board in the wall to mount the arm too in the normal mounting location.

Did you contact jayco and get the plans for your unit to see if there was anything you could attach to above the window?

Do you happen to have plans or measurements for this project? Our trailer is in storage but we want to build this and install later. We actually can't get to our trailer till our vacation planned the end of the month

ncooper96, does the plate on the VideoSecu fit into the bracket on which you can hang the TV on the outside of your camper? Or did you swap out the X-plate with the one that came with the camper? Sorry if I'm not using the right terminology...new to all of this. Thanks.

Hi there ncooper96, Thank you for all your information on TV mounting. I was wondering if you removed the false panel from inside the cabinet (for mounting & stereo access) or did you screw it in from the outside?

Hi there, I was wondering if you removed the false panel inside the cabinet to mount the tv and run the wires to the stereo or did you just do it blindly from the outside?

I have a 28in flat screen on top of my refrigerator. It just fits. I take it down when in transit. Wrap it in a blanket on the floor. Beats drilling holes in my trailer.....

I know this thread is old, but just curious if this set up worked out long term. I have a 2013 x17Z and am thinking of doing something similar. Anything you would do different?

I bought my 2013 x17z used and it had a swivel mount on the shelf above the refrigerator but the original owner kept the TV for their new trailer. I bought a 24" 12V DC tv on Amazon. Works great. I have some pics on my profile but will try to post more. Not sure the brand mount but locks in place for travel and swivels for viewing. Makes great hidden storage behind the TV too. The tv brand is Supersonic and sound is terrible but I hooked into my stereo and can watch for hours off battery. Just installed 2 100 watt solar panels and can't wait for Memorial Day!

The mount was similar to this but with a larger square locking base: https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Bolt-Dow...teway&sr=8-119

Where can those "shelf top" brackets be purchased? I have an X18D and would like to mount a TV above the fridge exactly like that. I have looked all over the place and haven't been able to find anything close to that. Maybe I am just looking in the wrong place.
