It depends on your trailer and your generator.
Our generator has a 30amp outlet (Champion Model 75531i, 3100 watt). Our trailer (30amp) plugs directly into that. The generator also has a 15amp duplex outlet (looks like a standard house outlet).
If your trailer has a 50amp cord, you will need an adapter (50 amp female to 30 amp male adapter) plug.
Find out for sure what your trailer has, the generator you plan to get, and then we can give more specific answers
