CO detector high pitch whistle

When I turn on my DC power the CO detector comes on automatically. It always makes a high pitch whistle sound. It's quite annoying. First I thought it was coming from the converter but I put my ear right next to everything and it is 100% coming from the CO detector. It is giving a green light, no alarms or errors, just makes this awful whistle. The sounds seems to almost go away, but then comes back, then goes again, then back again. We just got this trailer and I know this will drive me insane when trying to sleep. Does anyone else have this sound? Is it normal? Thanks

Thanks for the link Crabman. I will try contacting the manufacture of the CO detector and see how they handle this. My unit is a 2010 & I'm the second owner so not sure how helpful they will be. I'll post an update on what happens.

Update: So last night I went to the manufacture website for the CO alarm. They are called MTI Industries http://www.mtiindustries.com & there is an e-mail link on the top of their website. I sent them an e-mail regarding the whistling noise of my detector & I had a response back this morning. They told me that they would replace my detector and to give them a call on their customer service line 1-800-383-0269. I gave them a call, spoke with a very nice lady who gave me a return authorization number & told me to remove the detector from my trailer (2 screws & 2 wires) and to mail it to the address on back of the detector. I did this today, total cost for the envelop & shipping was $7.77 which is so much better then purchasing a new one. Glad to see this company stands behind their products & know the meaning of customer service. Anyone else with this problem just call the phone number above & I'm sure they will help.

That is good advice in general. Jayco/Starcraft doesn't make most of the systems on our campers and most of them, even when out of Jayco warranty, are good companies and take care of their customers well.
