Tires on stock rims

I have a just purchased a 2006 29bhs, I need to get new tires. What tires would you suggest? It currently has 205/75/15 on stock steel rims. What is the psi rating for those rims? I hear that maxxis tires are great.

That what I was thinking of doing, c to d. My factory spare tire rim says rating of 1820 lbs. Are you using the factory rims? The d class tire is rated at 2150lbs. and the c class is rated at 1820lbs. Do you think I should stay with the c class? I have a 2006 29 bhs. Dry weight is 5555lbs and gvwr is 7500lbs.

I am planning on replacing the tires soon, should I go with c rated tires or d rated tires? the maxxis c rating is 1820 and the d rating is 2150. I feel I should stay with the c rating that matches the rim rating or will it hurt moving up to d's?

As long as you don't exceed the rating of the rim it won't matter as long as the tire fits the rim properly.

As mentioned, as long as the stock rim's maximum PSI rating supports the Maxxis "D" tire maximum PSI rating you should be fine with the "D" rated Maxxis.

As far as rim weight load rating (just for fun)............,

Your 2006 29BHS has a GVWR of 7,500lbs...., and 4 x 1,820lbs = 7,280lbs...., so the stock rim's weight rating is sufficient for the TT based on the fact the TT's tongue weight isn't supported by the TT's axles (rims/tires), your TV supports tongue weight.

Worst case scenario, TT loaded @ GVWR: (7,500lbs) at (10% to 15% tongue weight) = 750lb to 1,125lb tongue weight range. So (7,500lb) - (750lb) = 6,750lbs weight on TT axles. (6,750lbs) divided by (4) = 1,688lb average rim load.

In most cases recommended loaded TT tongue weights are in the 13% to 15% range.

IMO going with the "D" rated tire will provide stronger side wall strength which is only one of it's advantages.
