Missing Bed light for 1992 Jayco 1206 Deluxe

I bought a 1992 Jayco 1206 Deluxe pop-up camper from a private seller. It's in nearly excellent condition. I had a problem with the DC lights/power but I found and fixed both of those problems. I also have an issue with the door latch, but I think I know how I will address that issue.

The camper only came with one bed light. There are outlets to plug it in at each bed and I think I should have two rather than one light. The issue I am having is no one including my local Jayco dealer has ever seen a light like this and no one seems to be able to assist me other than taking down the connector by the bed and replacing it with a light that has a different connector that would require me to purchase the light with the connector and a new light (or light and fan combination) which has the new style of connector (amplifier style plug or the larger headphones type plug) and the two of those combined is a bit of an expensive proposition.

Has anyone else seen this type of light which clips onto the bed roof pole? Does anyone know where I can purchase a replacement light like this one?
If anyone has an older Jayco with this type of light and would like to sell me their light, that would work too. Maybe someone selling their camper or a camper that has seen better days and needs to be scrapped; any thoughts are welcome.

Welcome to the forum!! I've never seen a jack like that. Looks like you could stick your finger in there, short across both pins and get a little 12V tingle under the right conditions. Any trailer surplus places near you? Will your existing lights work if you hook them up to 12V or are they defective for some reason?

If it was me, I'd buy the 1/4" headphone jack style receptacles, install them on your PUP and then replace the plugs on your lights with a 1/4" mono headphone plug from Radio Shack. But I am a thrifty individual!!

Thanks, fellow Michigander! The light I have works.
I would need to find connectors to install in place of the ones I have at the roof, buy a new light that connects like that, and replace the wire connector end to fit the new connector I would have to install on the ceiling for the light I have.

It's an option if I can find the things I need.

I've been to several trailer places and so far no luck on this.

I ran rope lights behind the valance curtains on both tent bed ends on my OFF-ROAD POPUP. these are 120VAc items from LOWES but runs well from my duty low wattage inverter setup when we are not using shore power.

The strip rope lights was just the right amount of soft night time light for us... I have them setup with a hand remote controlled 120VAC power adapter. Can operate all of these type of items with the push of a button...

My 2008 OFF-ROAD CAMPER came with these tent bed fan/light combo which failed after a short time of being used. These plugged into the ceiling light fixture using a phono plug. We now use the O2COOL 10-inch 120VAC/12VDC/D-CELL powered fan. Great choice for us...

the up grade is easy and i second the idea of up grading to the light fan combo almost every dealer carries what you need in stock in the stores or on line i did this up grade to my 87 before i sold it and my 2014 1207 came with the fan light combo package

I found not one but two of the missing bed lights at a salvage place. They had never seen a connector like that before either and told me that they didn't have any. As I went through the place, I found the sockets but no plug ends. Then a bit deeper into the facility I found a box with bedlights. Among the new amplifier type plug lights were two like I had. Marked at only $5.50 each but clearly used and in need of cleaning. When I took them to the counter and showed the guys that worked there that they did in deed have some, the offered them both to me at $10 for both. I now have a spare!
