Newbie in Phoenix

Hi everyone! We have a Jayco 2007 35GS m/h. We have already put on 10000 miles over a 2 year period. It's been trouble free and looking forward to many more fun miles.

You are very welcome... a newbie with no questions or complaints!

At 10,000 miles you've probably been places many have not. You might post some of the highlights.

Some folks on the east coast will probably be digging out for a few days and want to daydream of

I daydream of camping in the high country of Arizona everyday. This is really where we started out camping back in the 60s running the Jeep trails...

Nothing better than waking up in the morning and drinking a good cup of fresh ground bean coffee seeing the sun hit the red rocks around the canyons of Sedona...

Welcome aboard

Yup. You nailed it. That's the view from my house virtually every morning.

And the last rays of the sun on those rocks, just before sunset, goes very well with a tall, cool, glass of ale.

Here is a brief outline of our travels. July/August of 2013, Lake hopped through California, Bass Lake, Lake Oroville, Lake Shasta and Whiskeytown Lake. Drove through the Columbia River Gorge to Idaho and Lake Pend Orielle then north to Canada. Went to a lake called Pine Lake just outside Red Deer. The return trip took us to Montana and Lake Five, Whitefish Lake and Hungry Horse Lake. Made our way to Utah and stopped at Willard Reservoir then back to Phoenix. Trip took 6 weeks. August 2014 we traveled to Missouri to Table Rock Lake for a 3 week stay and then down to Lake Gleeson in Arkansas then home to Phoenix. Man this is a lot of writing!

Man, that was a lot of driving.

Were there any lakes, campgrounds, BLM land, etc. that you especially enjoyed? Or places you did not like?

If anything like that comes to mind, please let us know. Many of us are getting plans in place to go places when spring arrives. Information from this site is usually better than blindly searching the internet.

The best place we stayed on our first trip was Jeb and Margarets RV Park on the east side of Lake Pend Oreille in Idaho. The only issue was that trains came by two to three times during the night. My wife and I actually thought it was not a big deal. The highlight of the second trip was Table Rock Lake just outside Branson Missouri. It has over 1000 miles of shoreline and no one is allowed to build or strip the shore within 50 to 100 feet. We are planning to return there this summer for 3 to 4 weeks.
